How old do you have to be to run the adult course?
We advertise 13 years old, but we realize that some kids are more advanced at a young age than others. We have had 11 and 12-year-old kids run our adult course in the past. We will allow a child younger than 13 to run ONLY if they are with a parent or responsible adult at ALL times while on the course. This is a very challenging course and it has one section with some swimming in water that is over 5 feet deep. Life jackets and kick boards are available, and we will have lifeguards and rescue teams on duty.
Do youth aged 13-18 need a parent at packet pick up or day of race?
Yes! a parent or legal guardian will need to accompany them to sign waiver and give consent for them to participate.
What if I can’t swim?
We do have some swimming in water that is over 5 feet deep at the bottom of the water slide. Life jackets and kick boards are available, and we will have lifeguards and rescue teams on duty. We also will allow racers to go about 100 yards up stream to where the water is shallow enough to wade across. At a last resort you can wait until a slow time and we have taken people across the basin in the rescue boat. We do have 4 other water crossings in water that is only 3 to 4 feet deep and easy to wade across. We will have life guards on duty in those areas also.
Where do I park and is it close to the course?
There are two parking options. general parking, $10, is located at Lake Park just across the road from the course. we will have shuttles on hand to bring you up the hill at no additional fee. premium parking, $30, is located at the course near event area, clubhouse and starting line. premium parking is on a first come basis and is limited to approximately 50 vehicles. for either option you pay day of the event. just fyi, premium fills up fast. so plan to be bright and early if you want to be near the center of the action!
What if I can’t make it to the race after registering?
We do not offer refunds, but you can transfer your entry to another person for a fee.
